~ three

('Kids in America' by Kim Wilde)

Heads turn to the sound of the rumble in the city, from past the wall.  Survivors now in the alleys with the rest, a local kingpin pokes his head around the corner unseen while the soldiers prepare watching for the sound.

The ground shaking.

...

So this scene starts out friendly enough everyone's riding unicorns whoo !, until the cannon-fire hits, wiping out short swaths all around.  The fire comes from view forward, a slow arc across the sky.

In closer range the guards at the wall join in heavy fire.

With honor to true veterans of true history, this level could be equated to a D-Day event, survived only by pouring more numbers than than they've got bullets to spare.

The dragon roars over, Killer ridden before curling for a tumble through the wall's main rampart, distracting all fire as it leaps away turning through the sky before another assault, raining the fire across the length.

Into the city through the break in the wall, the Learner's power over golem soldiers echoes ahead, though the regular weaker guards remain unaffected before torn apart by the beasts of the wood.

They swarm over the city funneled into the docks.
